Journal of Rawalpindi Medical College (JRMC) is an official publication of Rawalpindi Medical University (formerly Rawalpindi Medical College, Rawalpindi, Pakistan). It was first published in 1977. JRMC is an open access, double blind peer reviewed medical journal. It is published quarterly. It follows Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) guidelines. All rights are reserved. The publisher and the members of the editorial board cannot be held responsible for errors or any consequences arising from the use of the information contained in this journal.

 Aims and scope of JRMC

JRMC is meant to; 1) facilitate the creativity of medical professionals in basic and clinical medical sciences in accordance to its utility for medical practice, and 2) to employ medical research as a potent and effective tool in combating disease and alleviating the suffering of mankind. JRMC publishes important and leading topics focusing basic and clinical medical research.

Editorial Policy, Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement

JRMC follows Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and  International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) guidelines/recommendations for conduct, reporting, editing and publication of manuscripts. Please go through Guiidelines for Authors page in this regard as well


Editorial Procedures and Peer Review

 International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) guidelines/recommendations will be followed for editorial procedure and peer review.

All submitted manuscripts received by the Editorial Office will be checked by a Associate Editor/subject specialists to determine whether they are properly prepared and whether they follow the ethical policies of the journal.
Manuscripts that do not fit the journal's ethics policy or do not meet the standards of the journal will be rejected before peer-review.
Manuscripts that are not properly prepared will be returned to the authors for revision and resubmission.

After these checks, the Editor/Associate Editor  will consult the journals’ Editor-in-Chief/Editor/Associate Editors, or Guest Editor (or an Editorial Board member in case of a conflict of interest) to determine whether the manuscript fits the scope of the journal and whether it is scientifically sound. No judgment on the significance or potential impact of the work will be made at this stage. Reject decisions at this stage will be verified by the Editor-in-Chief.

If the manuscript is considered to comply with aims and scope of RMJ at this stage it will be sent for double blind peer review. Removel of names and affiliations from manuscript will be done by editorial office.

Depending on the results of review process, Chief Editor/Editor will decide regarding acceptance, rejection, and modification of the manuscript.
